Welcome to the new world of technology! Please bear with us, this is our first attempt at blogging. Last week, I attended a Howell Chamber of Commerce medical devision meeting ( www.Howellchamber.com ) and learned some wonderful insights on how to blog... So here goes...
Some of you may already know this and for those of you who don't, over the last several years, myself and a colleague go to St. Xavier's Church (soup kitchen) in NYC to adjust hundreds of homeless people. It is truely amazing what you can learn from some of these people. They, like you and I, have hit some major "bumps" in the road but never bounced back. There is one women that comes weekly for her adjustments and has taught me some interesting things about life. Even though she is "homeless", her philosophy and attitude towards helping people like herself is amazing. She said "The problem with young kids today even though they are well connected with technology, there seems to be a major human communication gap. It's rare that a family can sit together, share a meal and actually communicate with each other, let alone God." She felt that if more people would spend time volunteering in places they are needed, they would develop a sense of compassion for their community and in essence the world.
How true are those words she spoke! In the younger generation of entitlement, most have no idea of how the other side lives. Yet, they have no qualms about poking fun of homeless people or turning their backs on them. What are we really teaching our children? Hopefully, kindness and compassion are two important virtues that have not been overlooked by parents. I don't know anything more rewarding then helping someone else feel better about themselves. This is what we do at TLC (www.tlcfamilychiropractic.com ) on a daily basis...we not only align spines but we also make that special connection between your heart and your head. When you can find your passion and call it your job, then life is truely working for you! I feel privledged and lucky to serve humanity!
